Pulmonology (also called respiratory medicine or chest medicine) is a medical specialty that focuses on the respiratory system, including the lungs, airways, and thoracic structures. Pulmonologists diagnose and treat both acute and chronic respiratory diseases, often working in intensive care units (ICUs) and outpatient clinics.
